Poem: Black Drapes

The woman in the black abaya and the green and orange scarf

Effortlessly floating through the masjid in elegant motions

Head up but eyes down

And for some reason filled with tears

Creeping closer

one hears

The soft murmurs

that fall from her lips
“Ya Hussein”
